The next time if you want to visit Sungai Congkak, you will be paying RM 1 per pax. I heard it is now operated by Tourism Selangor Sdn. Bhd.

When is the (re)opening of Paya Indah?

Many people have been questioning 'when is paya indah going to reopen?' well, I can't exactly predict. no one can. it has ceased operation early 2005. now, i will try to keep you guys updated with the latest local news about this wetland.

Cool-to-Care Camp @ Taman Wetland Putrajaya 7-9 June 2006

After the hectic schedule of PWCS XI which ended on the same day at 7th June, Taman Wetland continues to organize a back-to-back camp. Again, this is a regular camp during the school holidays by the Rotary Club of Putrajaya.

The 11th Putrajaya Wetland Camp Series took place from 5-7 June 2006. This time around, campers get a chance to venture out of Putrajaya - yes, we took them to a nearby forest called Sungai Congkak. It was a fun-filled camp with many of them having their first time experience in a jungle.

Taman Rimba Ampang 9 June 2006

it was a nice outing yesterday morning at taman rimba ampang. i decided to get a few hours break in the morning to walk in taman rimba ampang. met ahli chung and bing there. it was not the usual busy morning like my previous visit but still a rewarding walk. some of the species sighted and heard:

  1. spectacled bulbul
  2. red-eyed bulbul
  3. grey bellied bulbul
  4. yellow-vented bulbul
  5. crimson breasted flowerpecker
  6. orange-bellied flowerpecker
  7. blue-banded kingfisher (female)
  8. drongo cuckoo
  9. greater racket-tailed drongo (heard)
  10. eurasian tree sparrow
  11. oriental magpie robin
  12. whiskered treeswift
  13. banded broadbill
  14. yellow-crowned barbet
  15. striped tit babbler (heard)
  16. brown barbet

etc. including leafbirds.

numerous birds and other animals sightings were recorded yesterday. so, if you do not have enough time or do not want to go all the way to taman negara to enjoy the beauty of nature, just drive towards taman rimba ampang and relax for a few hours.
